4 Months...

People are always talking about how fast kids grow, and I tell you what; they're not lying! Bowen is four months old today and seems to be getting bigger by the day. He had his four month checkup at Mayo this afternoon so I took the day off to spend time with him and accompanied him to his appointment. I knew going into it that he was likely going to measure bigger than most babies his age, but it really doesn't bother me. He's a healthy, happy, little boy. Well, maybe not little? He weighed in at 16 pounds 12 ounces and measured 24 inches in length. Percentage wise, that puts him at 83% for weight, 34% for length and 82% for his head. If that means he's short, fat and big headed, I'm okay with that. I wouldn't have him any other way and think he's the cutest little boy I know!

Here's a picture of Bowen at birth, and then one from today. The one from today isn't the greatest, but as far as showing how much he's grown, it will suffice.

Why not?

Soooo, here I am on a Monday night laying in bed next to my snoring husband, watching Jersey Shore and playing an occasional game of Where's My Water on my ipod when I decide to take a stab at blogging. I know quite a few people who do it, and since Ben is always encouraging me to find new hobbies, I figured, why not? I spend enough time on the computer the way it is, so I might as well add another online addiction; Facebook, Pinterest and now blogging! I'm not exactly sure where this will go, but I guess we'll find out together. Here goes nothing!

It's currently 8:37 p.m. and the excitement of my night is that Bowen has been sleeping in his crib for over an hour now. We've been talking about transitioning him to his crib for awhile now, but haven't actually tried putting him in there other than the occasional daytime nap which has never lasted more than 20 minutes. I guess you could say it's a combination of being lazy and not wanting to change up our routine, but it's also scary to think that he'll be sleeping in his own room, in his own bed, alone. He'll be 4 months old on Friday, however, so it's probably time we start working on it. And besides, it's kind of nice being able to actually hear what I'm watching on TV, instead of Ben's obnoxiously loud snore. Wish us luck!

I think this will conclude my first blog. I really don't have anything to talk about, so instead of boring you, I'll call it quits and leave you with a picture of Bowen from earlier tonight. Isn't he handsome?
